JULY NEWSLETTER

Hello fellow rock and roll fans,

Sorry it's been a little while since our last update, June
was pretty busy for us. We had an awesome time at ComFest,
despite the tent mishap and the sudden rainshowers! You
can read more about that here in our blog. Thanks to all
who stopped by our booth, we really appreciate it!

Gallery Hop Weekend was a great time as well, there were
tons of people out and about. Our friend Joshua Brockwell
had his art show opening in our store that weekend entitled
"What Do You See?" He does semi-abstract ink drawings that
look like different things to different people. They are
pretty little art pieces, all framed and ready to hang on
your wall. Come down and check them out--the show will be
up until July 31st.

That weekend was also host to the infamous "Parking Lot
Blowout". The event, which is a benefit for the Columbus
Music Co-op, was held in the Surly Girl's Parking Lot and
featured lots of talented local bands playing music for
free. There were also hotdogs and notdogs for eatin', and
PBR to wash it all down. What the Rock?! was proud to
have been a sponsor for such a successful and rockin'
event.

That Sunday was also the Ohio Roller Girls Envy Cup
Championship Bout. Congratulations to the Take-Outs, who
ended their undefeated season with a victory over the
Black-Eye Bullies 87-62. We have had so much fun vending
at the games, and supporting the OHRG, it is sad to see the
season come to an end.

What the Rock?! is also going to be sponsoring the Columbus
International Film + Video Festival this November. It is
the oldest film festival in North America, originating in
1952. It is an honor to be a part of such a prestigious
award ceremony showcasing so many talented filmakers.

WTR?! is proudly sponsoring the 4th Annual Craftin' Outlaws
Alternative Craft Fair. This year it will be held at BoMA
on August 16th, from 12-7. We will be vending there, as
well as many other talented local artists. There will be
lots of crafty goodness, food vendors, games, contests,
door prizes, and more. For more information, go to
www.craftinoutlaws.com Support your local indie crafter!!

This week we are gearing up for two Short North Business
Association events. Thursday July 17th is the fifth
installment of the "Shorth North Third Thursday". Each
month , more than 30 of your favorite shops will be open
late. WTR?! will stay open until 9pm that night.
Saturday, July 19th, several Short North businesses will be
having a Sidewalk Sale. We will be participating in the
sale by having some $15 t-shirts on a rack outside as well
as some other goodies on sale. Stop by and see us!!

The friendly wenches at Surly Girl Saloon have honored us
with a cocktail inspired by What the Rock?!!! The citrus
vodka and 7-up thirst quenching drink is topped off with a
Pop-Rocks rim. Please enjoy one the next time you are
there. And after all your drinks, if you can remember,
bring your receipt with our signature drink on it and get a
free button of your choice!

Also, we just received new guitar picks today (soon to be
added to the website). New styles include Texas Chainsaw
Massacre, Playboy Beach Bunny, and the Tenacious D Pick of
Destiny. We are always working to bring our fans the most
unique and entertaining housewares, clothing, jewelry, and
gift items. If there is something you think we should add
to our line of goodies, or if you have questions or
comments, just drop us an email.

Lastly, please take a moment and visit some of our friends
on What the Rock?!'s links page. And then visit Rad Dog!
to satisfy your craving.
