Oct 5, 2008

We want to thank all of our fans for your patience while WTR?! completed the move to our new location. If you haven't seen the new diggs, please come by to say, "Hello." But everyone must come see our Halloween window display. With the help of Bryan Grey (Surly Girl) and Tim Ciani (Salon Lofts), we put together possibly (dare we say) the BEST window in the Short North.

Another reason to visit this month is our current art exhibit from local artist Rob Jones entitled "Saved by Magic". Using ink and acrylic on wood, "Saved by Magic" combines Rob's love of folk art and tattoo inspired art. The pieces have a semi-spiritual quality influenced by various world superstitions. The paintings are kind of like charms, juju, or gris gris. His show will run from Oct. 4 through Oct. 29.

This month What the Rock?! is sponsoring a couple events including "Women of Rock 2" benefiting breast cancer research. It will be held at Whiskey Dick's on October 18th from 8pm-2am. So come out and help support a great cause. Also this month is the next installment from The Chris Awards a.k.a. Columbus International Film + Video Festival 56. They will be showing "Murder, Spies, and Voting Lies: The Clint Curtis Story" on Tuesday October 28th. Please visit their website for details on other upcoming events.

Join Heather at the Surly Girl Saloon on October 7th from 5:30-7:00pm, where she will be a guest hostess for the fundraiser "Surly Girls for O'Shaughnessy". Your $10-$20 donation (or whatever you are comfortable with) will help support Mary Ellen O'Shaughnessy's bid for Clerk of Courts. Enjoy complimentary cupcakes and snacks, $3 Big O' appletinis, and good times with kickass gals!!! (Surly boys are welcome too!)
